Zoom ist ein Videokonferenzsystem, das Angehörige der Universität Leipzig nutzen können. Auf dieser Seite finden Sie für die Arbeit mit Zoom relevante Nutzungsbedingungen und Hinweise zum Datenschutz.

The following terms and conditions of use apply to the use of the Zoom video conferencing platform of Zoom Video Communications Inc. (hereinafter "Zoom") by members and affiliates of the University of Leipzig in the context of fulfilling the statutory tasks of the University of Leipzig, including the performance of teaching and study.

This includes all licences of Zoom, including those financed from the University's own budget or third-party funds. The use of free access (basic accounts) for official purposes is prohibited. Access not obtained via the University Computer Centre must be configured in accordance with data protection regulations (see last paragraph).

Access and general use:

Zoom is used via Uni-Login. When using the Zoom client, the latest version must be used. Zoom may be used to support or conduct teaching and learning events as well as meetings (committees, working groups, etc.). The use for confidential discussions, in particular job interviews, university examinations, appointment procedures is not permitted. The exchange of personal information on racial/ethnic origin, religious/ideological beliefs, sexual life/sexual orientation, political opinions, health, genetic data, biometric data and affiliation to political/social organisations is prohibited. The minimum age for using Zoom is 16 years.

Teaching, learning and other sessions:

In general, no registration with Zoom Video Communications Inc. is required to participate in an event via Zoom; the video conference can be accessed via a link and attended in its entirety. In the case of purely audiovisual participation, only technical connection data is temporarily recorded.
In general, it is recommended to control access to Zoom video conferences (meetings) for teaching purposes. Insofar as copyright-protected works are used to a permissible extent in the context of teaching and studies, the effective restriction of the circle of use to the event participants is prescribed by law. In addition to the obligatory password protection, you have the option of providing for the registration of participants in the meeting options and/or setting up a waiting room from which you admit participants to the event individually. The waiting room option must not be used to keep attendance lists.
