First steps

A server certificate is a digital confirmation that guarantees a secure connection between a server and its users. It authenticates the identity of the server and secures the transmitted data through encryption. If you require a server certificate for your server, please follow the instructions below.

Firstly, please log in at https://cm.harica.gr

Please use the Academic Login and then select your institution, in this case the University of Leipzig (Leipzig University).

You will now be redirected to register via Leipzig University.

Once you have successfully logged in, the Harica dashboard will open. Here you will find the sub-item ‘Server’ in the left sidebar under ‘Certificate Request’, click on it to start the application process.

The digital application form will now open. All host names used in the certificate must now also be entered here, as the data from the CSR is not transferred. If the alternative names are not to be created with www.myhostname.subdomain.uni-leipzig.de, remove the tick under the lower field before clicking next.

In the next step, select the product. Please select the product ‘For enterprises or organisations (OV)’ and click next.

You will now receive a summary of your organisation and then click on continue.

After authorisation, you must agree to HARICA's terms and conditions of use before you continue.

Finally, you can now submit your CSR manually; a window will open in which you can insert the CSR.

Finally, send the application.

You will now see the display below in the dashboard. This means that your requested certificate (pending) of type SSL/OV (server certificate, organisation-validated) is waiting for an action by the PKI staff. You will receive a notification as soon as the certificate has been released.
