Research data archiving
As part of good scientific practice at the University of Leipzig, it is essential for research projects to ensure secure and sustainable archiving of the research data produced. The Research Data Archiving service at the URZ directly supports research projects in their efforts to conduct good research by providing the option of permanently archiving research data in the connected long-term repository OpARA. Here, research data can be published, archived and re-used.
Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi "eduroam")
Within the university, network access via Wi-Fi is possible at various locations or areas via the eduroam network, so that good Wi-Fi coverage can be offered. eduroam® also provides free access to thousands of Wi-Fi hotspots worldwide.
Access to the data network (LAN)
Within the University, workstations (PCs and notebooks) can also be connected directly to the university network via LAN cable. This enables fast access to network services such as mailing or internet.
Ad-hoc surveys in courses
By using mobile devices (laptops, smartphones), Particify can be used as a voting tool in seminars, lectures or other events. You want to know whether the auditorium can follow your lecture? Use Particify's feedback function. In this way, the interactivity between speaker and audience can be increased and events can be made more varied.
Consulting: Research Data Management
We offer you individual consulting on the topic of research data management. The URZ helps you with the planning and implementation of your data management in research projects.
Data Science with RStudio
RStudio offers a comprehensive integrated development environment for the programming language R for statistical calculations. The service allows access to our hardware resources and use of the extensive library of software.
Digital Pinboard
With TaskCards you create online pinboards with information and media content (links, pictures, videos) alone or together with your learners. With this tool, notes/thoughts/ideas and (media) content can be collected on a digital pinboard independent of time and place. Different topics can be visualised digitally - alone or in a group. The pinboards are an ideal tool for collaborative work. The software is 100% compliant with the GDPR.
High Performance Computing (HPC)
The “High Performance Computing” service offers researchers at Leipzig University and their cooperation partners competent and problem-related advice for the implementation of complex scientific calculations that exceed local computing capacities. As part of the service, users are supported in carrying out complex scientific calculations (e.g. scientific simulations on protein folding, machine learning methods).
