Employees of Leipzig University can have the URZ professionally manage their university-owned IT work devices. This includes the installation of operating systems, patch management and the protection of end devices against malware/viruses.

OUR SERVICE FOR YOU

The service offers the user:

  • Set up and manage university-owned Windows and Mac devices (laptop, PC, tablet)
  • Integration into the Leipzig University network
  • Current operating system
  • Standard programmes under Windows (Office, Adobe, Firefox, Thunderbird, VLC player, Irfanview, Nextcloud, Notepad++, remote maintenance option, Cisco AnyConnect (mobile devices), GIMP)
  • Current security software (anti-virus)
  • Standard programmes under Mac

Options

Employees of Leipzig University have the option of having programmes that deviate from the basic programmes pre-installed on request. Please send an e-mail to the ServiceDesk (servicedesk@uni-leipzig.de) or use our form.

Requirements

The service can be used by:

  • Teachers, researchers and employees with a currently valid personal Uni-Login*

*Employees of the Faculty of Medicine should contact the Computer Centre of the University Hospital.

The use of the service requires compliance with the following regulations:

  • For all services of the University Computer Centre, the IuK usage regulations of the University Computer Centre of the University of Leipzig apply in principle. Misuse of services of the University Computer Centre may lead to the termination of the usage permit and, if applicable, to criminal proceedings.
