Assistive technology for visually impaired people
Various assistive technology is available for blind, visually impaired or low vision employees and students of the University of Leipzig to borrow.
Our service for you
The service offers users:
- Braille display: Braillex EL40c
- Mobile camera reading system: MagniLink Pro FHD TTS camera system
- 1 notebook with the following technical equipment:
Hardware: HP Elitebook 850, 16 GB RAM, 1TB hard disk, voice output system, 15” LCD
Operating system: Windows 10
Software: Screenreader JAWS with speech output, ZoomText L2, MS Office 16, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Internet

REQUIREMENTS
The service can be used:
- by blind and visually impaired students and employees of the University of Leipzig, if an application has been made for their own assistive technology and this is not yet available or the assistive technology is defective
- for compensation for disadvantages examinations within the framework of a module or degree with the examining lecturers.
The use of the service requires compliance with the following regulations:
- For all services of the University Computer Centre, the IuK usage regulations of the University Computer Centre of the University of Leipzig apply in principle. Misuse of services of the University Computer Centre may lead to the termination of the usage permit and, if applicable, to criminal proceedings.
