Training: Excel (during the semester)
The Excel course provides students with an overview of programming skills for evaluating data and visualising it using the programme: Microsoft Excel 2019.
Training: Moodle teaching-learning platform (institutes)
Would you like to discuss subject-specific possibilities for using Moodle, learn how you can implement your teaching-learning scenarios with our e-learning offerings or offer new colleagues and/or students an introduction to Moodle at the University of Leipzig? We would be happy to visit you at your institute or train you via video conference in our Moodle training for institutes, which is individually coordinated with you.
Training: RStudio (block course)
The block course on the free programming language R offers students an introduction to RStudio. In addition, participants learn the basics of data management and presentation options with RMarkdown.
Training: RStudio (Intensive course)
The intensive course on the free programming language R is intended to offer students an application-oriented introduction to the use of R and RStudio. After this course, the participants will be able to carry out simple statistical analyses in R, e.g. for homework or theses.
Uni-Login
The Uni-Login is the user ID that gives members and guests of Leipzig University access to various services such as the use of the personal university email account, WLAN use or certain e-learning services. To gain access to IT services with your university login, you must activate it for the first time.
University email box for students
The university email is your most important means of communication within Leipzig University. Students of Leipzig University automatically receive an email account and the corresponding access data together with their university login when they enrol. This email address is used in particular for important information from the University.
Video conference with zoom
Zoom is a software package that enables video conferences - so-called meetings - to be held with up to 300 participants. In addition to private and public chat functions and the transmission of video and audio sources, Zoom offers the possibility of screen sharing, polls and virtual group rooms. This allows you to implement digital teaching and other online meetings (committees, working groups, etc.). All members of the University of Leipzig can log in with their Uni-Login, set up a video conference or take part in one as part of fulfilling the University's statutory duties.
Video conferencing with Skype for Business
The Skype for Business video conferencing system is a communication tool that combines chat, telephone and video conferencing with other functions. Synchronous, location-independent collaboration scenarios can be organised via Skype for Business.
VPN access to the university network
Various services and offers of Leipzig University can only be used if you are within the University's network. In order to access these services from home or on the road, you need a so-called VPN connection to connect to the university network from outside.You need a valid university login to dial into the university network via VPN. You can choose between simple dial-in via the web browser using web VPN or full access using the AnyConnect client.
Web-based data science and machine learning with Jupyter
The "Jupyter" service offers researchers, teachers and learners at Leipzig University and its cooperation partners an interactive web interface for using high-performance computing resources for data science and machine learning.
